Recently Mars and Uranus were "close" in the sky and I managed to get a shot. It is great when a planet as easy to find as Mars, can act as a "landmark" to find another.
The other pair of photos is of the bright star Aldebaran with its accompanying star cluster called The Hyades. I have identified the brightest stars of the Hyades with the letter "H".
Fun stuff. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is great fun Anvilcloud. :-)
DeleteAnother interesting post. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Flighty!
DeleteYour range of photographs - from a molecule of water to stars billions of light-years away are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read that Uranus at its closest is 1.6 billion miles from Earth, I couldn't really grasp that! I am awestruck that I could capture it with my camera.
ReplyDeleteSomeday i want to be able to recognize the stars and planets, i do enjoy looking at them but seldom know exactly what i'm seeing.
ReplyDeleteLiving where there is so much light pollutions doesn't help...
Messymimi, I could not have found these stars and planets without the Stellarium app. It is free and is just amazing!
