Finding a Green Heron is exciting enough but getting to photograph one as it goes through some sort of feather ruffling exercise was a real treat. Here is the dapper fellow before, during and after! In the fourth photo he reminds me of a British butler asking for one's hat and coat.
: -)
Wonderful photos! Herons are such fascinating birds to watch. xx
ReplyDeleteNice. Looks smaller than the Blue one?
ReplyDeleteWere you close, or did you have to do a lot of cropping to make it look close?
Thanks Flighty.Yes, I am amazed by the patience of herons.
ReplyDeleteThanks AC. As you saw from the e-mail I sent, I wasn't as close as it looks. However, had the heron been as big as a Great Blue, I wouldn't have needed to crop at all, I think.
What great timing! Were you the 'apple of his eye'? He seems to be looking right at you. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Didee. I'm not sure what he was thinking but he does seem to be looking directly at me. I had snapped four photos before he started the "ruffling routine" and I was so happy to catch him at each stage.
