Wild winged wishes

When I was a young girl and feeling a need to escape the boundaries of my life, I imagined I could call a beautiful, wild, winged horse. This horse would let me climb on her back and we would soar above my troubled world. It was a feeling of pure freedom. Since reaching adulthood, I put these fantasies aside but still there is a part of me that hopes she would hear my call were it to be made today.

WILD WINGED HORSE

She stands alone - wind ruffled mane -
Tossed and wild –
Nothing tamed.

Then surges upwards - unfettered.
Strong and fearless –
Un-tethered.

My heart soars with the wild, winged horse
Who loves the open sky
And I, who loves the horse, do know
What wondrous ride she could bestow.
For which I’d gladly risk it all
Yes, even risk the deathward fall
To have but done it once.

Here are three fox photographs (only one shows here) that I am posting in an effort to then use them as a slide show! Yay, it worked! You can see it below on the right. However, there must be a better way.

Helping cats and kittens

I have had the privilege of photographing cats that have been rescued and put up for adoption by a Montreal based organization called Steri-Animal. The photographs are posted on Petfinder.com and are a great way to allow people to find the perfect companion. Steri-Animal does terrific work and has helped a great many cats. I thought you might like to see a small collection of these beautiful and lucky individuals.

You can check out the organization at: Steri-Animal.

Ocean video clip

I have the need for a relaxing visual and auditory experience. Searching through my videos led me to this 30 second clip of the ocean off Dallas Road in Victoria. I guess 30 seconds is better than nothing. : -)
