Unusual wildlife in the Mount Royal Cemetery

During my frequent trips to the Mount Royal Cemetery to photograph the wildlife, I have come across some very unusual creatures.  These are all examples of atypical colouration of familiar species of birds and mammals.
Squirrels:

Mottled gray and white Squirrel


White/blond Squirrel


Squirrel with striped underside


Reddish brown Squirrel

    The atypical do stand out, and they are all lovely to look at. Never knew some raccoons don't have a mask.

    A nice and interesting collection. When we first moved to TO all those years ago, I was surprised to see that most squirrels were black and not the Montreal gray that I was used to.

      Thanks Anvilcloud. Yes, I remember learning about black squirrels in Ontario years ago and always hoped they'd come this way. Now I see so many that I didn't even include one in this post.

    Wonderful, and interesting, pictures. The only squirrel missing is a black one which we get here occasionally. That raccoon sure looks different without a mask. xx

      Thanks Flighty. Yes, I almost included a black squirrel but they have become very common now. I didn't know that you had them too!

    Sad how we accept and marvel at animals that look different but find it hard sometimes, as humans, to see the beauty and worth in others that appear different to ourselves on the outside. Beautiful photos Doris... as usual!
